The Aircraft

Our aircraft are medically-configured, and strategically located throughout Louisiana to respond quickly and efficiently. Our fixed wing aircraft offer extended transports across the continental United States. International flights can be pre-arranged by our staff utilizing a Lear 35 jet aircraft. Established in 1981, our helicopters fly more first-response missions than any other air medical program in the country. BO 105

BO 105 twin engine helicopter fleet is strategically located across Louisiana, and is in a dedicated medical configuration to hold:

• Two litter patients
• Two attendants
• Cruise speed of 135 MPH
• Range of 275 miles

EC-135 

The EC-135, newest of the fleet, is the only first response 24-hour air ambulance helicopter in Louisiana, with dual pilots, that can fly in adverse weather inland and offshore.  The EC 135 is equipped with:

• Full IFR instrumentation
• Three-axis autopilot
• Night vision technology
• Cam navigate in dark expanses
• Night vision offers ability to magnify light sources which insures highest level of safety
• Satellite tracked in Operational Control Center
• Traffic collision avoidance systems
• Helicopter terrain warning avoidance systems
• Honeywell's state of the art WU 660 weather and obstacle radar
• Different radio systems
• Digital voice to text communications

The King Airs based in Lafayette carry team members, patients and family members from all parts of North, Central, and South America, including the Caribbean.

• 1200 mile range flying
• Altitude of 35,000 feet
• Cruise speed 270 mph
• Cruises above weather
• Configured for isoletts and balloon pumps
