Hurricane Katrina Nouvelle Hurricane Katrina was a terrible event in the history of Louisiana as well as the country as a whole. Acadian played a major role in the aftermath of this disaster and was on the scene to help all of the individuals who were injured and stranded by this tragedy. We honored this event, and our important role in it, in a special edition of the Acadian Nouvelle in the winter of 2005.
